Bank Foundation Provides Disaster Response

The Torrington Bank Savings Foundation acted swiftly to respond to the immediate needs of those being directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by opening a special $100,000 grant cycle in April 2020. Grants of up to $10,000 were made available to organizations working on the frontlines of the pandemic, and were awarded for basic needs such as rent, food and infant supplies, as well as utilities, counseling and medication. The Torrington Savings Foundation’s special COVID-19 grant cycle did not take the place of their annual grant cycle, but operated simultaneously. Their mission is dedicated to revitalizing their communities and improving the quality of life for low-to-moderate income individuals and families—and running both grant cycles in tandem allowed them do to just that.
