Helping a Nonprofit Get Back to Work

United Bank was proud to be able to provide PPP loans to its small business customers during the onset of COVID-19. One of the bank’s customers, Washington Street Community Center, a nonprofit serving children with after school tutoring and healthy meals, particularly benefited from United Bank’s help.

With the PPP loan, the volunteers were able to resume servicing and supporting their community. They were quickly able to help parents navigate the challenges of distance learning by offering Zoom tutoring sessions. Volunteers also organized a drive-thru so kids could pick up their healthy snacks every week. Thanks to United Bank, this nonprofit was able to continue providing valuable services to the children and families of Newton County.
