When TIAA Bank sets out to make a difference, there is no stopping them from going above and beyond. In 2018, the bank celebrated its Centennial Anniversary by beginning to lay the groundwork for incredible community improvements in the Jacksonville, FL area. The bank launched an innovative partnership with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and Habitat for Humanity to provide safe, decent and affordable housing to families in critical need. The program, One Team. One Home., consists of a five-year, $2 million pledge between TIAA Bank and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
One Team. One Home. has entered year three of its five-year plan, and already there has been so much to celebrate. Since the 2018 groundbreaking, 32 homes have been built as a result of this project—totaling 23,640 volunteer hours on construction. This resourceful team effort is well on the way to achieving its goal of building or repairing at least 100 homes in Northeast Florida by 2023.
The ongoing success of this program has earned TIAA Bank a 2020 Community Commitment Award from the ABA Foundation. This award recognizes and promotes the many valuable ways banks of all sizes contribute to economic growth, community development and enhancing the quality of life in their communities—and is a true badge of honor for any bank to earn.
