Bank Hosts Local Teen Video Contest

Daniel Wang, a 16-year-old student at Health Careers High School in San Antonio, Texas, tied for third place in the American Banks Association Foundation’s Lights, Camera, Save! teen video contest. His entry, “The Budgeteer’s Beat,” won The First National Bank of Shiner’s local competition in Shiner, Texas—allowing him to compete on a national scale.

Lights, Camera, Save!, which launched in 2010, is a competition that encourages teens ages 13 to 18 to use video to communicate the value of saving and motivate their peers. In 2021, 117 banks hosted 133 contests in 47 states as a part of Lights, Camera, Save! Daniel’s hard work, competitive spirit and sound money management skills earned him a $1,000 prize.
