Christian Thomas, a 17-year-old student at West Potomac High School of Alexandria, Va., tied for third place in the American Banks Association Foundation’s Lights, Camera, Save! teen video contest. His entry, “Keep Your Bread Up,” won Burke & Herbert Bank’s local competition in Alexandria, Va.—allowing him to compete on a national scale.
Lights, Camera, Save!, which launched in 2010, is a competition that encourages teens ages 13 to 18 to use video to communicate the value of saving and motivate their peers. In 2021, 117 banks hosted 133 contests in 47 states as a part of Lights, Camera, Save! Christian’s hard work, competitive spirit and sound money management skills earned him a $1,000 prize.
