Dollar Bank received ABA Foundation’s Community Commitment Award for its affordable housing efforts in 2023. The bank’s homeownership program offers first-time homeowners free one-on-one credit counseling, down payment assistance and education. With over 9,000 applicants in the past 20 years, the program has grown from its start as “Mortgages to Mothers.” Now known as “The Way Home” program, it has offered over 700 hours of credit counseling, 800 hours of financial literacy and over 200 loans to more than 3,000 low-and moderate-income individuals since 2021.
