BankFive has been an avid supporter of United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Hunger Commission Mobile Market since 2017, an organization that provides free, locally grown produce to low income residents of New Bedford and the surrounding area.
Between June and October, the Mobile Market is held on a weekly basis out of the parking lots of two BankFive branches. Bank employees assist in the set up and break down of the market, unload produce trucks and keep the market stocked throughout the night. In total, the 2020 Mobile Market served 3,820 individuals, and achieved 327.25 volunteer hours.
